What We Do
IN THE COMMUNITY
The Jefferson Berkeley Alliance is doing tremendous work throughout the community. JBA has developed and is implementing the police social worker program at the Charles Town Police Departments as well as enacting a mentorship and school social worker program within Jefferson County schools. JBA is working hard to expand these programs so that all community members have access to these services in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties.
Police Social Workers
As part of community support the police social worker addresses the psycho-social concerns that cause individuals to have encounters with law enforcement. This social worker interacts and provides support to individuals who have mental health concerns, substance use disorders, experiencing homelessness or domestic violence, and more. They focus on individualized interventions and connections to proper community agencies.

IN SCHOOLS
JBA is developing after school programs for Jefferson County students and currently providing a school social worker and school mentor to Jefferson County Schools.
